SC Cleared Senior SOC Security Analyst

My client a leading IT Managed Services company requires a Senior SOC Security Analyst to be based in Reading. The ideal candidate will be ready to undertake a business hours role within a Security Operations Centre team. The Senior Security Analyst should have solid experience and understanding of networking and security technologies and have discipline to follow the required processes and procedures.

Duties
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
Vulnerability scanning of customer environment
Patch Management processes and analysis of threats against multi-server environments
Mail and web filtering solutions and support from the cloud or dedicated solutions
Security technologies such as EPO, DLP, Port Control and End Point Protection, Log Correlation Tools, Protective monitoring
Microsoft, Linux Security OS hardening
Threat mitigation techniques such as DOS, DDOS and malware
Lead the SOC team on the formulation of incident reports
Using ITIL tools for updating tickets for the tracking and resolution of escalated issues
Daily checks, analysis, reporting and auditing tasks
Coordinate or participate in individual or team projects
Experience of mentoring or coaching members of a team

Essential Skills
Prior experience of working in a SOC or managed services environment
Solid practical involvement of deploying and managing SIEM toolsets such as RSA enVision
Good understanding of IT security best practice, common attack types and detection / prevention methods
Demonstrable experience of analysing and interpreting system, security and application logs in order to diagnose faults and spot abnormal behaviours
Experience of maintaining a secure network through configuring and managing typical Security Enforcing Devices, such as Firewalls, Proxies, IDS/IPS devices, EPO, and knowledge of SNORT
Keen to maintain an understanding of evolving Internet threats
Experience with ITIL processes for Incident and Problem management
Excellent verbal and written communications in English
Qualifications
RSA enVision Certified Systems Engineer (CSE) desirable
SANS GCIA / GCIH qualifications desirable
Eligibility to live and work in the UK is mandatory
SC or DV clearance is required
